Our aim is to celebrate severe convective weather and aurora across the Northeast through real photographs. You don’t need professional equipment or a following to have a perspective worth sharing.
Powerful weather deserves thoughtful storytelling and respect for the communities it affects.
Where the contest reaches.
New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Maine. Photographers may live anywhere; the photo must be taken within an eligible state.
Before you enter.
Can I use my phone?
Yes. Phone and camera images are judged by the same criteria.
Can I enter an older photo?
The eligible capture dates are still being decided. Keep your original severe-weather or aurora photographs ready.
Do I give up copyright?
No. You retain copyright and grant only the limited permission in the rules.
How do I contact the organizers?
The organizer contact will be announced before entries open.
